Onam starts from tomorrow ie, 22 August 2010 (Onnam Onam). We call this day by another name – Uthrada Pachil. The next day (Monday) is Thiruvonam.
Since last week we had seen tremendous rush in the city to buy new dress and other items like vegetables, rice, fruits etc.. It will reach its height on this Sunday.
Anyhow Malayali people will be relaxing on Thiruvonam with meals, games and some special onam Tv programs.
Pravasi malayalies will also celebrate Onam in their flats and in their offices. They may be a little sad as they caunt celebrate Onam in Kerala.
